Austria business credit reports

Check an Austrian customer or supplier using its Firmenbuch identity. A company credit report supports research into the legal business on your contract, including available financial and corporate information.

Information to prepare for your Austria company check

  • Registered Austrian name and legal form
  • Firmenbuch number, retaining its letter suffix if shown
  • Registered office and business address

Include the identifiers you have. If the legal entity is uncertain, ask our team before ordering. Do not substitute your billing details for the subject company’s details.

The Austrian commercial register

Austria’s business register combines a principal register with a document archive. The European e-Justice description lists company number, name, legal form, registered office, business address, and authorized representatives among the registered details. Retain the full register number when distinguishing similarly named group companies.

Representatives, ownership, and accounts

An authorized representative is not necessarily the owner. If your Austrian company review needs ownership relationships or financial statements, specify those requirements separately from a basic registry extract. Review the documents actually available, their reporting period, and whether the information concerns the local entity or its wider group.

Researching an Austrian distributor

A manufacturer appointing a distributor may receive a group presentation bearing a different name from the Austrian GmbH on the agreement. Use the registered company name and Firmenbuch reference for the report. Provide the presentation as context without substituting the parent’s identity for the contractual distributor.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.

Does the person authorized to sign own the Austrian company?

Signing authority and ownership are different questions. Ask about obtainable ownership information if that relationship matters to your review, and keep the registered representative’s role distinct from a shareholder or parent company.
