Sri Lanka’s eROC services

The Department of the Registrar of Companies provides eROC services, including name search, user guidance, and notices concerning registered companies. Its eROC notices also identify annual-return filing issues. A name-search result and a filing notice should be read according to their purpose and date.

An annual-return notice needs a reporting period

If you have seen a notice about a Sri Lankan company’s annual returns, provide the notice and the period it covers with your request. Do not treat the posting date as a financial-statement date. Ask what company information can be obtained for the particular review you need to conduct.

Identify the Sri Lankan contracting business

For a supplier selling through an overseas sales office, establish whether the Sri Lankan company or a different entity will sign your agreement. Preserve the registration number’s prefix and give both office and factory addresses where relevant. The report subject should remain clear even when several parties handle the order.

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.

Should I remove letters from a Sri Lankan registration number?

Copy the number exactly as shown on the registration document, including any prefix. Include the full legal name and address so the supplied details can be reconciled with the intended company.
