Information to prepare for your Portugal company check

• Registered Portuguese name and legal form
• NIPC or company identification number, if supplied
• Registered office and any commercial certificate reference

Commercial registration certificates

Portugal’s justice services offer permanent certificates with access to registered company information and documents. Different certificate products cover registration, associated documents, or annual accounts. Company identification information can include the NIPC, legal form, address, activity, and status; select the evidence appropriate to the question being reviewed.

Annual accounts and local operations

Portugal’s annual accounts service describes filing accounting information into its annual accounts database. It distinguishes accounts for a permanent Portuguese representation of a foreign company from those of the overseas company itself. In your report, check whether any financial figures describe a local operation, a Portuguese company, or an international parent.

A Portuguese producer and its export agent

A importer buying footwear or other manufactured goods may negotiate with an export agent. Send the legal name from the contract and clarify whether the agent or producer receives your payment. If both companies require review, identify each rather than assuming the brand covers the entire relationship.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.
