Information to prepare for your India company check

• Full registered company or LLP name
• CIN for a company or LLPIN for a limited liability partnership, where available
• Registered address, state, and website

Company and LLP identifiers

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs provides company and LLP master-data services. Its help materials describe searches using company names and identifiers such as CIN and LLPIN. Include the identifier appropriate to the entity when you have it, rather than treating every business as the same legal form.

Match the contracting entity

For a US business buying services or goods from India, the company on the invoice may differ from the brand used by a group. Send the full legal name, address, and website together. If your counterparty describes itself as a partnership or sole proprietorship, tell the team so the subject can be identified correctly.

Explain specific information needs

If your review needs a particular accounting period, ownership detail, or payment reference, state that requirement before purchasing. A newly investigated report concerns information gathering at the time of the order; it does not guarantee that every requested document exists or can be obtained.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.

Supply the identifier shown on the entity’s documents: a CIN for a company or an LLPIN for an LLP, if available. If the type or identifier is unclear, include the name and address and ask the team for help identifying the report subject.
