Brazil business credit reports

Order a Brazilian business credit report for a customer, distributor, or supplier. Start with the registered business name and CNPJ so the request is tied to the company identified on your transaction documents.

Information to prepare for your Brazil company check

  • Registered business name, retaining its legal suffix
  • CNPJ exactly as supplied on the company’s documents
  • Business address, city, and state

Include the identifiers you have. If the legal entity is uncertain, ask our team before ordering. Do not substitute your US billing details for the subject company’s details.

Use the CNPJ to identify the business

Brazil’s official CNPJ consultation service provides registration information for legal entities, including registration status and information about partners and administrators. The CNPJ and registered name are useful reference points when preparing a report request.

Check the specific establishment

The Receita Federal provides CNPJ services for head establishments and branches. Copy the identifier exactly as it appears on the documents for the business you want researched, and supply the corresponding address. Explain any difference between the invoicing entity, local office, and group name.

Registration status is one part of the picture

For a US exporter reviewing a Brazilian buyer, a registration match establishes which entity is being discussed. Your review may also need available financial information, payment references, and the report’s assessment. Check which information is included and ask about specific requirements before ordering.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.

Is a CNPJ certificate enough for a company credit check?

A CNPJ consultation gives registration information. A credit report serves a broader business-information request, with available financial, payment, and assessment sections depending on the company and report type.
