BRS company and business-name searches

Kenya’s Business Registration Service administers company, business-name, and limited liability partnership registration. Its service schedule distinguishes an official company search producing a CR12 from a business-name search producing a CR13. Supply the entity’s registration details rather than treating the two document types as interchangeable.

Corporate records and financial questions

An official search establishes registered company information within its scope. If your report needs accounts, directors, shareholdings, or a specific business relationship, describe those requirements before ordering. A registration extract is not itself a payment history, and any financial figures should be read with their reporting period and limitations.

Research the Kenyan contractual buyer

A exporter may deal with a Kenyan distribution hub that sells into neighboring markets. Identify the entity named on your purchase order rather than an end-customer destination. If another regional company will owe payment, explain that arrangement so each requested report follows the intended counterparty.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.
