Information to prepare for your Japan company check

• Registered Japanese name and any English version used by the company
• 13-digit Corporate Number, when available
• Head office or principal business address

Include the identifiers you have. If the legal entity is uncertain, ask our team before ordering. Do not substitute your US billing details for the subject company’s details.

Japan’s Corporate Number search

The National Tax Agency’s Corporate Number Publication Site publishes Corporate Numbers and basic organizational information. Its English site includes English names and addresses for organizations that have registered those English indications. The search accepts a 13-digit Corporate Number.

An English search can be incomplete

Because the English publication depends on registered English indications, an unsuccessful English-name search is not enough to conclude that a Japanese company does not exist. Obtain its Japanese name and Corporate Number where possible, then include the address to help match the intended subject.

Identify the exporter or purchasing company

A US business may deal with a Japanese manufacturer through an export or sales company. Make clear whether the requested report concerns the manufacturer, intermediary, or purchaser on your paperwork. Use the returned company identity and reporting dates to confirm that the document fits your review.

What can the report include?

Depending on the company and available sources, a report may cover registration, ownership, financial statements, payment information, public records, and a credit assessment. Information is not equally available in every market. Check the company identity, source dates, and qualifications in the delivered report.

Does a Corporate Number lookup provide a credit assessment?

The official Corporate Number site publishes basic identity information. A business credit report can bring together additional available company information and a credit assessment. Review the report description and information limitations before ordering.
